Get to Know Us
The Entrepreneurial Development & Assistance Center (EDAC) has played a major role in introducing entrepreneurship across campus and within the community for over 20 years. EDAC was established to offer entrepreneurship education to the Morgan community while providing resources to help individuals within the community start, operate and scale a business. Serving about 1,000 individuals yearly with workshops, one-on-one business counseling, specialty training, live events, and media exposure through its varied podcasts. The mission of the Entrepreneurial Development and Assistance Center (EDAC) is to connect budding and existing entrepreneurs to resources for venture management and growth.

Omar S. Muhammad
Director
Omar S. Muhammad is an entrepreneurship ecosystem builder working with entrepreneurs, small business owners, corporations, and government entities. He has been actively involved in entrepreneurship since age 12, managed a small business loan fund, and developed programming to teach individuals about starting, operating, and scaling a business. He serves on the Technology Development Corporation of Maryland board and other committees that assist entrepreneurs. He has been a business columnist and radio talk show host for over 22 years. He holds two degrees—Masters in Technology Entrepreneurship and Accounting. Omar has four daughters and two granddaughters. His mantra for life is to improve and progress!
Yvette Racks
Executive Assistant
Yvette is the Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Entrepreneurial and Assistance Center (EDAC) at Morgan State University, with over 20 years of experience. She supports various administrative tasks and is a former Morgan’s Toastmasters International member. Passionate about youth advocacy and public speaking, Yvette has served on local committees, including Engaging Youth Entrepreneurs (E.Y.E.) for Change, Inc., and co-chaired the Women Owned and Managed Enterprise Network (W.O.M.E.N.) conference.
Yvette is a Baltimore resident and an energetic aspiring entrepreneur. She enjoys reading and spending
quality time with her family and friends. When asked what keeps her focused, Yvette quickly responds, "My spiritual rim keeps me charged and motivated.” Her favorite scripture comes from Philippians 4:13, which states, “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me!"
