RIDE Entrepreneurship Center

Morgan State University's EDAC has been awarded a grant from the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA Entrepreneurship Education Program for Formerly Incarcerated Persons. The program aims to provide opportunities for formerly incarcerated minority individuals to re-enter the workforce by funding innovative projects that support and equip them with the skills, resources, and network to start their own businesses. We are committed to leveraging capabilities to help increase opportunities for these individuals.

Activities

Our Workforce Development program offers a 3-hour entrepreneurship boot camp where participants learn the basics of starting, operating, and growing a business. All participants receive access to an online tool to help business planning. We also offer continuing education through popup workshops to further help individuals with creating an entrepreneurial mindset and business. Our monthly podcast and video podcast highlight formerly incarcerated individuals who are now exploring entrepreneurship or finding new ways to grow their enterprise. Additionally, we offer one-on-one guidance and a Room to Grow Initiative where ten individuals will be selected to participate an advisory board initiative that meets monthly for 10 months.
